Directions and Parking for 103 Golisano Hall, Hartwick College

The Hartwick College campus map can be downloaded at http://www.hartwick.edu/x529.xml Golisano Hall is #31 on the map (#2, Arnold Hall, has been replaced by a grassy space). Gerry Stoner has made a gray-scale version of the map for those of you who don't print in color.
To get to our meeting place in room 103 Golisano Hall, enter campus from the main West Street (upper) entrance and bear left at the fork. Golisano Hall is the new building dead ahead after you have passed, on your right, Clark Hall, Bresee Hall and the empty space formerly occupied by Arnold Hall.

When entering Golisano from the side door, room 103 is on your left on the ground floor. Entering from the front door, room 103 is on your right.

At this hour, you may park where you find available space. If you find no parking before you reach Golisano Hall, hook around to the right. There should be plenty of parking spaces available at this hour behind Bresee and Clark.

May 6 Meeting
Apple Senior Systems Engineer David M. Marra –
Apple iLife '09 and iWork '09

Apple Senior Systems Engineer Dave Marra gave delighted MUG ONE members a terrific show his eighth annual presentation on May 6 in 103 Golisano Hall on the Hartwick College campus.

In typical whirlwind fashion, Dave showed us creative new ways to work with digital photos, movies, music and more with the iLife '09 suite, highlighted by demos of iMovie '09's new image stabilization feature, GarageBand's amazing musical composition and learning features and iPhoto '09's souped-up slide show themes and formats.
He also gave us a look at how easy and fun word processing, spreadsheets and presentations can be with iWork '09, which continues to be compatible with Microsoft Office.

Dave fielded a slew of questions from the audience of more than forty attendees, and set our minds at ease about recent media allegations of Mac "viruses" – simply not true, as Dave explained. After his presentation door prizes were awarded and refreshments were enjoyed. Dave was in top form and attendees came away with plenty of ideas and inspiration. We're looking forward to seeing Dave again next year. After all, May is Marra Month at MUG ONE!

April 1 Meeting
The Many Uses of Preview and other Diverting Software – Mark Dye

On Wednesday, April 1 Mark Dye showed how to make the most of Preview, the free Mac OS X application that comes with every Mac. He also demoed VersionTracker, BYKI (free language learning), Onyx for system maintenance, features of the Menu bar, free alternatives to Microsoft Office, Tex-Edit and more. Many thanks to Mark for an information-packed program.

March 4 Meeting
Facebook, Classmates and Mark's Gems

MUG ONE met on Wednesday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Golisano Hall, the brand new, state of the art classroom building on the Hartwick College campus in Oneonta our March MUG ONE meeting. Note the new meeting place!

MUG ONE Secretary and Program Co-Chair Brian Foley gave an introduction to Classmates and Facebook. He demonstrated some easy ways to connect with and keep in touch with friends, family, classmates and colleagues and some approaches to using Facebook for business networking and career building. Brian's presentation took the entire meeting time, so we didn't have time to hear Mark Dye's "Mark's Gems" presentation on how to make the most of Preview, the free Mac OS X application that comes with every Mac.

As always, the meeting began with a question and answer session and ended with a door prize drawing for current members and refreshments for all.
